Why can’t we be friends?
Although the Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro has been on sale since mid-September, users with an iOS smartphone are yet to access the device — and it could all be Apple’s doing.
The fitness tracker, like its other Samsung siblings, was in line to receive iOS support alongside Android devices, yet the companion app is yet to see approval by Apple’s App Store.

In a statement, Samsung said: “We look forward to iOS support for Gear Fit2 Pro pending approval in the App Store.”
So, essentially, the Korean company is placing the responsibility for the delay squarely on the shoulders of its Cupertino rival. But thankfully, despite weeks of user frustration in Samsung’s support forum, the odd Fit2 Pro wearer now appears to be receiving the update.
But, as we’ve seen in the past, compatibility issues between the pair are anything but straightforward. Samsung only added iOS compatibility to its line of Gear smartwatches back in January after first aiming to do so a year earlier.
Hopefully this is a scenario which is slowly being resolved, but we’d still suggest those with an iOS device to exercise some caution when buying the Gear Fit2 Pro – after all, while compatibility is slowly trickling out to some, this might not yet be a widespread rollout.
